Thick pull up bar vs standard pull up bar. Posted: 30 Aug 2020 03:11 AM PDT Recently moved houses and am without my usual wall pull up bar so I'm going to put one together using scaffold. The scaffold is thicker than a standard pull up bar. Would a thicker bar be detrimental to my progress or is it more beneficial? [link] [comments]
Balance and stability issues with single leg exercise Posted: 29 Aug 2020 06:18 PM PDT I'm currently running a PPL routine, 6 days a week. The biggest issue I face with lifting is the single leg lifts. Lunges, one legged squats, I just don't have any balance, and I'll feel wobbly. Not having a sure and steady movement through these lifts can't be helping me, so I'd really like to fix the issue. Does anybody have any tips for improving balance and stability? The exercises I'm struggling with are what I'd suggest to somebody with balance issues, so I clearly don't know what I'm talking about. Normal squat is absolutely fine. I have sustained a few injuries to the dominant leg over the years. Compound fractures, 2 ACL tears and a broken foot all in the one limb. Not sure if this is part of the issue. I worked very hard to ensure my gait was correct following the injuries, and my regular squat isn't wobbly at all. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks 🙏 [link] [comments]
How to assess whether you are a beginner or intermediate? Posted: 30 Aug 2020 12:49 AM PDT I have always had this question with calisthenics as of how to assess whether one is a beginner or intermediate. Like for weight training it can be pretty simple. But what would be categorized as a novice or early intermediate in the world of calisthenics? [link] [comments]
Posted: 30 Aug 2020 09:35 AM PDT I've been reading this sub for a few years now but have never posted here before. In July, I herniated a disc in my lower back. I'm starting to feel almost back to full (McKenzie Method is amazing), but the idea of working out/exercising has me terrified. I've had my fair share of injuries working out the past 10 plus years, but this one hit me mentally in a different way. I'm worried about everything twinning the wrong way and being leveled for another two months. Did anyone hear have a similar problem post injury? Are there any good pieces of advice to get past this? TLDR Do you have any good tips to get over the fear once your injury is healed? [link] [comments]
| Posted: 30 Aug 2020 11:50 AM PDT R (dominant) biceps torn completely 20 years ago. R rotator cuff tear 9 YA. Not repairable. My right side has gained strength but I relied on my left more. L shoulder in Torn just before Covid. Tore L biceps 6 or eight weeks ago. It's still attached though. How do I build up my strength and connective tissue health to the point I can do a plank. | Does anybody know how to do hamstrings on these? Posted: 30 Aug 2020 11:50 AM PDT Or if there's anywhere else to hit those muscles in the calisthenics park There's also an isolated one of those [link] [comments] |
Tips for a calisthenics begginer Posted: 30 Aug 2020 11:15 AM PDT Hi so lately I've take some interests in calisthenics. I've always did bodyweight exercises but lately I found my normal workouts not very challenging and I'm trying to find some more difficult bodyweight workout. From what I've seen so far calisthenics is both difficult and still focus on bodyweight exercises but problem is that I'm relatively new to this. Can anyone recommend me of some calisthenics workouts and exercises? I've already have basic strength and would like to work on some technics. Thanks for any kind of help [link] [comments]
Is there a flexibility and mobility routine that goes with the RR? Posted: 30 Aug 2020 03:25 AM PDT I read in steven low's overcoming gravity that by the time you reach an intermediate level you should be able to do pancajes and pikes, I want to start in that but don't know where to start😅. Links or books or any help in general would be appreciated. [link] [comments]
