Want to curb quarantine over-eating Posted: 07 Apr 2020 06:44 PM PDT I'm sure many of you have been struggling with this too, given the current situation. But I've just been eating non-stop since being on lockdown, and not exercising anywhere near my normal levels of activity. I usually live in the city, and I walk a lot and would go to the gym to work out at least 2x a week. My diet is usually very healthy – I'd indulge occasionally, but I stick to a vegetable-based diet and generally avoid carbs and processed foods. Since I came home a month ago, it's been quite different. Especially with the recent curfews and recommendations to not even go outside for the next few weeks. We have all kinds of food in the house, and I am eating far more calories than I usually consume in a day. My step count is averaging like 7000/day, when it's usually above 10,000. I'm doing something each day – whether it's squats or running for 30 min – but it's the eating and indulging that I want to do less of. I get that we should be kind to ourselves during this time because it's an unprecedented situation and there is considerable worry out there. But one thing adding to my general stress is the guilt of gaining weight because I am eating more than I know I should. I'm writing here because I am looking for strategies. I know it's basically as straightforward as just jumping on the treadmill and getting some exercise. Are there mindset adjustments, scientific explanations, or home workout resources that have worked well for people lately? Let me know [link] [comments]

Online Pilates with a passionate professional. Posted: 24 Mar 2020 08:56 PM PDT As everybody is aware this Corona virus is making everyday life rather difficult if not different. I have a friend who is absolutely phenomenal at what she does. Single mom and super passionate about life (genuine good people status). She has a pilates business that's been heavily affected by this virus. So she's doing video/online pilates. Check her out if you're even remotely interested, she is amazing! Thank you for your time in reading 🙂 [link] [comments]
Posted: 18 Mar 2020 02:11 PM PDT I've always wanted to lose weight, but I've never had the energy to get up and actually try. I'd like to lose weight all over. From my thighs, to my torso. But I just don't know how to go about it all. I don't know what diets to do, or what exercises to do. Another issue is procrastination. I always say I'm gonna do stuff, and then I don't. And when I try setting alarms, I usually just snooze/dismiss them and forget them. How do I force myself to get up and exercise. And how do I exercise showing restraint when it comes to fast food/snacks? [link] [comments]
