I can’t lose weight. I feel weak when I reduce my meal portions.

    Posted: 21 Aug 2020 09:57 PM PDT

I used to be able to lose weight by just reducing my calorie intake, eating real food and exercising, but in the past 3 years, it has become nearly impossible for me. Every time, I try to reduce my meal portions by even a little, I feel ravenously hungry and tired. Obviously, if I feel this way I listen to my body and eat. There have been times where I have become lightheaded and weak, even if I haven't reduced my calories by much. I've gone to the doctor, but they've said everything is normal. I know that I don't do extreme dieting or anything that is unhealthy so why would my body be responding in such a negative way. I'm honestly scared to skip meals, as I could start feeling weak. I don't have diabetes. I haven't dieted in about a year bc I'm afraid of my body responding badly. I carry food in my purse everywhere I go bc if I'm hungry and don't eat, I start to feel tired and weak. It's as if my blood sugar is low, but I have checked it and it is not the case. My blood pressure is normal as well. What could this be?

Will grease the grove on pull-ups lead to more muscle growth or just the ability to do more pull-ups?

    Posted: 21 Aug 2020 05:32 PM PDT

From what i've read, greasing the grove is just a way of enhancing neurological connections to make your muscles fire better and it doesn't actually mean more strength.

I'm currently on a bulk right now and i've gained about 5lbs and have increased my pull-ups about 1 rep in each set which i've heard is decent progress on a bulk. I can now do 3x6 bodyweight pull-ups.

Should I get rid of pull-ups in my normal training and do grease the groove to increase the amount of reps I can do and start doing weighed pull-ups? Will this lead to actual muscle gain or would it be the same if I just kept attempting to progress at where I am right now?

    Rings on moving tree branch

    Posted: 17 Aug 2020 01:55 PM PDT

I've been doing ring work for about a year now and have the rings hanging from a tree branch. The branch is weak enough that it bends and sways when I am on it. Wouldn't this make the rings even harder than the are making it even more unstable? Am I getting more benefit or would it just be better to build a bar?
