| Question about feeling sick post workout. Posted: 09 May 2020 09:02 AM PDT I've recently started a new bodyweight training circuit comprised of 4 sets of pullups (7), push ups (20), squats with a resistance band (20), and plank (1m30s), with a 3 minute rests inbetween sets. I do this workout 2 days on and 1 day off. I'm steadily trying to increase the number of pull ups each week but after I finish the workout I feel physically sick and i've been close to throwing up a few times. I don't know if this is a normal sign of progress or if i'm just pushing myself too hard. [link] [comments] |
| How often do you do corrective mobility exercises and does it impact your regular workouts? Posted: 09 May 2020 12:35 AM PDT I'm currently working on improving my shoulder mobility, specifically rear delts and external rotation, because it's preventing me from fully engaging some of my back muscles during rows etc. The problem is that external rotation exercises give me a significant and persistent discomfort in my side delts and that is starting to get in the way of pushups which are my main chest exercise now during the quarantine. I normally alternate these and do one day of pushups, mobility stretching the next day when I have back workouts. [link] [comments] |
| anyone have a body part that recovers more slowly than the rest of you? Posted: 09 May 2020 11:38 AM PDT For me it's my forearms / grip. I frequently have to give them extra recovery time compared to the rest of my body. I sometimes wonder if that means they've got muscle imbalances I've never addressed or something. | Texas Method for weighted calisthenics Posted: 08 May 2020 08:44 PM PDT Hey guys! I wanted to know if any of you have had success with programming the TM for weighted pulls/dips.
For reference, my bodyweight is 68kg and my 5RM on pulls and dips are 30kg and 45kg respectively. Thank you! [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 08 May 2020 11:54 PM PDT I will like to understand the best approaches to work on skills and increase hypertrophy too. Struggle to get the best split workout.... I would like to understand if upper/lower or bend arm/straight arm split it will be best split? I'm very solid on basics (pull ups can do 20+ , dips 40+ , push ups 50+) also I always did push pull legs + weight calisthenic but now I would like to focus more on front lever and planche! I have solid handstand ( 1min) [link] [comments] |
| Isometrics: strength, mass, or endurance? Posted: 09 May 2020 02:46 AM PDT Hi everyone, i was simply wondering how does the rep ranges concept work on isometric holds. I mean: is it the same thing to hold an isometric longer as it is doing 12 reps for endurance/aesthetics, as opposed to 3-6 for strength/power? So to build max isometrics strength i should focus on moving on to the next progression, while i would have to hold the previous one for longer (i.e. 30s instead of 15s) in order to gain mass/aesthetics? | Any alternatives to the BaseBar? Posted: 08 May 2020 06:42 PM PDT https://www.baseblocks.fit/pages/basebar I'm looking to buy a product similar to this. I'm looking for alternatives mainly because shipping to Australia is like +30% cost and they aren't shipping until June. I'm buying this to do L-pullups and levers at home and I don't want to use doorway equipment (used to have a doorframe pullup bar). I like that it's quite portable and I can set it up in front of my mirror and watch my form while I do front levers and whatnot. Any leads would be appreciated! [link] [comments] |
