| Lockdown and how it is helping me Posted: 15 Jul 2020 01:36 AM PDT I (M44) am big, always have been, parents were big, siblings would be classed as morbidly obese. I have had desk and supervisory jobs my whole life, always overeaten, ate poor choices and got little to no exercise. I started lockdown at 26st 3lb (367lb), I am 5ft 11 tall. As lockdown began, I seized the opportunity to try and change myself for the better. I have cut out crisps, chocolate and biscuits, replaced them with apples, bananas and strawberries, wherever possible I have salad (for example I will have a rump steak with tomatoes, cucumber, onion, lettuce, celery and peppers in low fat dressing instead of Steak, mountain of chips, onion rings, garlic bread and mushrooms) I was so unfit that walking 3/4 of a mile on day one left me gasping for air and so fatigued I needed a nap for an hour. This morning I got home from a 6 mile walk, had a shower and weighed myself, down to 22st (308lb) exactly, still a million miles from healthy, but 8 inches down on my waist and not permanently knackered. I am looking for tips on keeping going and making the next step, I have good days and bad, I guess most people in my position do, I just want to try and make sure the old me is gone forever and I keep going.
