    HEY YOU,

Have you taken any recent pics of those sweet gains, your human flag, or those handstands off the wall you're finally holding?

Do you have other bodyweight fitness accomplishments you've made and want the world to know about because your friends and family can't appreciate how hard L-sit progressions are??

This is the thread for you to share all that and inspire others at the same time! I'm talking about another S-S-SU-SUNDAY SHOW OFF!!

Note that we aren't limiting you to what we're discussing on the FAQ. Show us anything that blew your mind the moment you realized you had it. This may include aspects of: gymnastics, climbing, parkour, weight loss/gain, posture, etc. They are all more than welcome in this thread.

We also want to remind you that we've been sharing your content on @redditbwf on both Instagram and Twitter. Help us grow our sub's social media in order to reach out to non-Redditors across these other platforms!

    Bored from Powerlifting

    Posted: 01 Mar 2020 10:39 AM PST

    Hi everyone

I've been a wannabe powerlifter for almost two years, training at home with my rack, barbell, plates, etc.. I've done multiple programs, the last one was NSuns for almost a year. I've made a lot of progress (before starting to lift I could barely do a body squat), but I've reached a point where the workouts are taking too long due to the rest times I need to recover between sets, and I'm always doing pretty much the same stuff (4 big lifts, jump rope, some curls and side raises).

I've started reading about calisthenics a while ago, and decided to take a break from the barbell and try something new for a couple of weeks. So far I'm enjoying it a lot, I few days ago I started back wall standing holding the position for almost 30s.. and I can do 6 pull ups, 6 chin ups, 10 dips 3 sets.

However, I'm afraid of loosing all the strength I gained with the weights if I go full body weight training, so I wanted to hear what others who were in my situation have done. I've checked the recommended routine and I'm going to give it a try, I've seen that incorporates barbell squats and Romanian/traditional deadlifts, but nothing about bench press or OHP.

I'm 43 years old, 169lb, and my last rep maxes were bench press 225lb, ohp 135lb, squats 300lb, deadlifts 350lb. It's not much, but I started when I was 41, and I had a very sedentary life until then. Also, I switched to full plant based diet a month ago (never felt this well in my life).

Any comments will be really appreciated.

    Thanks.

How easy is it to lose a skill once you have mastered it?

    Posted: 01 Mar 2020 09:10 AM PST

Hi. I've recently begun practicing calisthenics for skill. Until now I was just focused on buildung strenght. I began with L sit and now I can hold it for 10 seconds on avarage. Once I master it I plan to move to the next skill until I master all od them. So my question is, how much time does it take to forget a skill once you learn it, because I don't want to go back and waste time which I could use to make progress.

Should I move onto the Next Front Lever Progression?

    Posted: 01 Mar 2020 04:26 AM PST

Title says it all, so I've been training Front Lever for a while now and I can hold the very first progression (Tuck front lever) for a good 20 seconds with good form, 30 seconds if I really push myself before fatiguing.

Should I move onto the advanced tuck? Because that one seems very hard for me and I can only hold it for a very short time, if so, how long should I hold it for and how many sets?

What is the community’s opinion on this athlete: @pidgescalisthenics IG

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 11:17 PM PST

Came across him quite some time ago and I'm amazed at how his followers don't see right through his horrible form for static holds. Obviously he is quite stronger than what you may call the beginner or intermediate Calisthenics athlete as he seems to have the strength for handstands, FL, BL and some form of a planche but the form is horrendous to watch. I've reached out him on his posts just asking why he doesn't focus or post skills with good form and to my surprise the comment was deleted. What do you guys about him? I think he does motivate people to work out but falls short when it comes to good form. I don't mean to create any drama, I'm just amazed that good or bad form ultimately don't have the same value when it comes to the general audience of his posts.
